Removing the PyrusConnect-Responder Service from the SystmOne Gateway

Michael Barrow -

Purpose

In some cases users maybe required to remove the PyrusConnect-Responder when a project has come to an end.

OR

Should you be required to move the service onto another machine. The following guide will be able to assist users in completing the removal of the service.

Requirements

To perform any installation or uninstallation from workstations you will be required to enter administrator usernames and passwords. These details can be obtained from your IT Services. In most cases they should be able to perform the uninstallation for you.

Guide

Check the Service is installed

To start users are required to ensure that the PyrusConnectResponder is installed on the machine users wish to remove the service from. To do this check in Task Manager by right clicking on the System Tray and clicking Task Manager

Once Task manager is open, click on the Services icon and then search in the list of services for PyrusConnectResponder. If this exists then we know that service is installed and the uninstallation can be carried out.

Please note:
The service may be in a “Stopped” state, this maybe due to updates on the machine that may have caused issues with the service. This is nothing to worry about and the uninstallation can still proceed.

Uninstallation

Now that the service has been found on the machine we can begin to uninstall the service.
To start, click on the start menu and search for “cmd” by simply typing “cmd”.
Within the options you should now see “Command Prompt” within the results. This should be the top result.

On the right you should see “Run as Administrator”, if so click this
